Abstract: The study examined the distribution pattern of household assets, income and consumption expenditure and the extent of inequalities among the landless, marginal, small and medium households in Gurugram and Nuh districts of Haryana. The results revealed that there exist significant differences in the distribution pattern of household assets, income and consumption expenditure among the sample households. With increase in the size of holdings, the magnitude of inequalities among households showed a decreasing tendency in both districts. Most of the group-based differences existed due to inheritance and disparities in the distribution of assets. The government schemes have played a significant role in improving the standard of living of beneficiary households. newline
