Abstract: | The penetration of analytics into every aspect of management is a well-known fact but in the recent past, it is noticed newlinethat Analytics is making its entry into the HR domain and is gaining prominence. Data was always there, but it was newlinestopped at developing dashboards and metrics which were left to the understanding of the audience later. Here is newlinewhere the role of analytics is required to question the status quo. Now experts insist on advocating analytics in newlinepractice where ever it is possible. The question here is if the people have the right skill set to use it and how simply newlineand easily they can adopt analytics into their decision making practice. newlineThe study exclusively contributes to the literature on the concept of HR Analytics, discussing the applicability of the newlineanalytics concept to the domain of HR. It analyzes the ease of adopting HR Analytics by the employees at the newlineindividual level and together with the firm analyzes which factors pose barriers to the application of analytics newlineregularly. newlineAn exclusive study on literature review on analytics through books and major databases like Scopus, EBSCO, and newlineWeb of science was carried out from 2005 till date. The results reveal that there is a difference of opinion about the newlineease of usage of HR Analytics and the reasons vary from lack of skills, fear factors, difficulty in conceptualization, newlineetc. Yet, HR analytics surpasses all the barriers with the benefits it offers and is becoming an emerging trend in newlinetoday s era. More it helps in quantifying the HR data which in turn leads to fact-based decision-making by the HR newlineprofessionals. On top of it, HR researchers get assistance in reflecting their work more on pressing issues such as newlinetalent management, hiring process, and attrition challenges rather than focusing on trivial ones and motivating them newlineto develop some future avenues that are vital to the firm s success. newlineKeywords: HR Analytics, Conceptualization, HR professionals, Individual level. newline |
