dc.description.abstract | The consumer protection movement is a new social phenomenon in the digital age. The newlineconsumer protection has to take care of the basic needs of the vast consuming population of newlinethe country through the rule of law. The consumer protection movement through the rule of newlinelaw is improving the social status and life of the consumers. The internet has provided a big newlineplatform for trade and commerce by providing e-commerce facilities to the consumers. The ecommerce has advanced the network facility for online trade and commerce all over the newlineworld. Now the e-consumers have facilities such as multiple choices, easy mode of delivery newlineservices, online payment and e-banking services. The Consumer Protection is based on newlineconcept of e-consumerism is an activity of the consumer, by the consumer and for the newlineconsumers for the protection of their rights in online market. E-consumers are consumers who newlineare buying, consuming or selling goods or services online. The e- consumerism means caveat newlinevenditor (let the vender beware). The word replaced the traditional concept caveat emptor . newlineLet the buyer beware . The word consumerism has deep roots in ancient history but econsumerism is of recent origin. The concept of e- consumerism exists due to the newlinedevelopment of e- commerce. E- Commerce and e- consumerism is co- related to each other newlinewith purpose to balance the interest between e-commerce profits and e- consumer satisfaction. newlineThe consumer designated as the King of the Market needed protection by law to protect newlinetheir rights and interests. In this perspective, the most important milestones in the consumer newlinemovement in the country has been achieved with the enactment of the Consumer Protection newlineAct, 2019 in order to better protect the interests the consumes. | |
