The thesis entitled ADVANCE SYNTHESIS OF IMPERATIVE newlineHETEROCYCLIC SCAFFOLDS UNDER ECO-COMPATIBLE newlineCONDITIONS. is the study with special emphasis on the design and construction newlineof new nitrogen containing heterocyclic compounds under environmentally friendly newlinereaction conditions using solid and easily separable heterogeneous catalysts. newlineHeterocyclic aza compounds are well recognized for their multifaceted newlinepharmacological behavior. Many modern pharmaceuticals which are in regular newlinetherapeutic use are heterocyclic moieties. Some of these have been found to possess newlinesignificant biological properties and surprisingly low toxicity towards humans. newlineMedicinal chemists nevertheless continue to shed light on the structure activity newlinerelationship that governs the field by describing new products and optimizing newlinestructural variables. The search for novel chemical entities has largely focused on newlinethe synthesis of heterocyclic compounds with pharmacological activities. newlineThe present thesis has been divided into four chapters. newlineChapter-1: The present chapter including the brief introduction, applications and newlineadvantages of heterocyclic compounds, solvent-free reactions, microwave and newlineultrasound assisted reactions and water as a solvent in organic synthesis. newlineChapter-2: This chapter describes the catalytic activity of titanium dioxide newlinesupported SO3H (n-TSA) as a solid heterogeneous nanocatalyst for the construction newlineof 2-(substituted phenyl)-3-(5-methylisoxazol-3-yl)thiazolidin-4-ones by the newlinesolvent-free three-component reaction of substituted aldehydes, thioacids and 3- newlineamino-5-methyl-isoxazole without using volatile solvents. Short reaction time with newlineexcellent yields, cost effective, easy workup process and recyclability of catalyst are newlinethe notable green reaction credentials of the present eco-friendly method. newline
