Effect of synectics and awareness training model on achievement in English and self esteem of secondary school students

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effect of synectics and awareness training model on achievement in English and self-esteem of senior secondary school students and it was found that the synectics and awareness training model were significantly effective than traditional teaching method. Synectics model provides abundant opportunities to the students to enhance their creativity skills in all fields whereas Awareness Training Model allows students to take refuge from their regular teaching and experience natural learning through involved activities, sharing of ideas with the peer group and learning similar concepts in an insightful way. Through Synectics, the unknown abilities of students can be explored and old concepts can be seen with entirely different perspective. Awareness Training model can enhance the skills of self exploration and social skills of the students and ultimately enhance learning experience of the students. newlineSignificant differences were observed among students taught using synectics and awareness training model on achievement in English. This study would be useful for policy makers and developers as they may consider introducing the synectics and awareness training models of teaching in the school curriculum for enhancing achievement in English and Self-esteem. newline newline
