Abstract: The major contributions of the work proposed in this thesis are as follows. A framework of node-level trust evaluation using memory integrity of a sensor node proposed. From the security perspective, the work proposes intra-node trust evaluation where a sensor node first assures itself with an untampered Operating System (OS). When such untampered nodes intend to participate in network operations, inter-node trust evaluation ensures a reliable peer-to-peer or 1-hop communication. Four trust evaluation models, namely binary, depreciated, weighted and probabilistic trust models are proposed using normative and empirical methods. Multihop trust evaluation is proposed by extending the proposed inter-node trust evaluation. The node level trust evaluation framework is proposed for modular implementation in sensor nodes. newline
