Abstract: This study has explored narratives of subjective trauma developing a theoretical framework focusing on the specificity of trauma that locates meaning and addresses its rhetorical components through a theoretical pluralism and socio cultural critique. It challenges the restrictive utilization of trauma theory to analyze colossal catastrophic events. It throws light on the future scope of application of trauma theory to evaluate subjective trauma and calibrate its impact on one s ability to nurture a coherent sense of selfhood, adequacy and well-being. newlineThe application of trauma theory insists on the premise that any individual s life story is singular and thereby the interpretation and implication of that devastating trauma is specific. The exploration in this dissertation concerns how we might gauge the impact of trauma, and the urge to convey the hidden or suppressed consequences of trauma through literal ways. The dissertation also analyzes the complex psychological portraits of his protagonists from the perspective of trauma theory and the thematic obsession of Fitzgerald with trauma and loss. newlineIt has combined recent theoretical practices in trauma theory with the already well-established notions of trauma to analyze subjective traumas experienced by individuals from different sections of the society. It focuses On the origin, manifestation and there percussions of these traumas and allows us to develop a better perspective on Fitzgerald. newline newline
