Abstract: Medicinal plants contain many bioactive compounds which are used to treat diseases. Approximately 80% of the people in the world s developing countries rely on traditional medicine for their primary health care. The diversity of medicinal plants is becoming endangered at alarming rate because of ruinous harvesting for the production of pharmaceutical products. The present study was done on three medicinally important plant viz. Zanthoxylum armatum DC., Achillea filipendulina L. and Coix lacryma L. All the three plant species were found to contain enormous amount of phytochemical has antioxidant, antidiabetic and antibacterial properties. An efficient protocol for high frequency of adventitious shoot regeneration and tremendous rooting was developed in Z. armatum and A. filipendulina through shoot meristem and nodal explant. newline
