Abstract: Self-assembly of amino acids and peptide molecular motifs into nano/micro scale architects were architects were demonstrated in the present study. The generated nanostructures were thoroughly characterized using optical spectroscopy as well as microscopic techniques. The self-assembly of amino acids used for the generation of amyloid type functional materials whereas peptide molecular motifs were used for the formation of nanospheres and hydrogels which demonstrated drug delivery application. The indepth analysis of morphological, optical as well as amyloid characteristics of amino acids have provided valuable insights for the ongoing research in material science. newline
