Abstract: In the present research, the author has proposed methods for individualization, differentiation, and classification of different soils by using spectroscopic, thermal, and microscopic analytical techniques along with chemometric methods. Out of these methods, TGA analysis of soil is developed first time only. The approaches used in the present study are expected to provide valuable insight into the use of soil as credible scientific evidence in forensic examination under the law enforcement community. The results of the present study are quite significant, appreciable and will help the forensic laboratories and hence the criminal justice system in India and worldwide. newline
