dc.description.abstract | The study brings about the fact that women beliefs of Panchayati Raj Institutions and newlinetheir knowledge about functions of these institutions is not upto the expected level newlineand it has been inferred during the personal interactions with them that their role is newlinemainly as observers and they satisfy their role as being present in all active decision newlinemaking. According to most women, male domination and lack of information are newlineblocks to active involvement and participation. To encourage women members to newlineexecute their role measures are to be taken. In recent times it has been observed that newlineself-awareness, a rising trend of female educational attainment, training, exposure to newlinemedia has led to women becoming responsible towards their role and responsibilities newlinebut lack of experience, traditional mindset, male domination remain main factors newlinewhich hinder women active engagement in decision making and leadership role. newline | |
