Abstract: The investigations are carried out for studies on isolation and characterization of bacterial laccase for potential industrial applications. For this, a laccase producing bacterial strain was isolated from green site of Chandigarh and identified. The selected strain was studied for laccase production under un-optimized and optimized conditions; scale up production was also done in a bioreactor. The crude enzyme was purified and studied for characterization. The purified laccase was further studied for decolorization of synthetic dyes. Purified laccase was immobilized and characterized. The immobilized laccase was further studied for decolorization of dyes and textile effluent. newline
