Abstract: The driving force to undertake the current research work was the necessity to develop suitable and reliable solution for management of chronic wounds and the lacunea in current wound healing therapies. Considering huge demand and suitability of natural drugs and potential of novel drug delivery system, in this study the combination of both was utilised. The attempts were made to fabricate two different formulations. Firstly, Glycyrrhizin Loaded Nanofibers (GLY-NF) were synthesized by electrospinning technique. Secondly, hydrogel films loaded with extract of fruit glandular hairs of Mallotus philippensis (Lam.) Mull. Arg plant (MPE-HF) were developed by solvent casting method for management of chronic wounds. (GLY-NF) was successfully fabricated by electrospinning technique. In vitro efficacy of formulation was checked by scratch assay while in vivo efficacy assessment was carried out by excision wound model in STZ induced diabetic Wister rats. Both the formulations exhibited satisfactory physical and mechanical properties, sustained drug release action, good antibacterial, antioxidant properties, biocompatibility, and effective chronic wound healing properties. The developed formulations could serve as the appropriate wound dressing material. newline
