A large number of microorganisms inhabit the rizosphere layer of soil which carries out various types of activities. These microbes establish a symbiotic relationship by being helpful to plants as well as to the rhizosphere inhabiting microorganisms itself. Among such soil microbes, mycorrhizal fungi or mycorrhiza is one of the best examples of symbiotic association (Turk et al., 2006) representing an intimate interface between roots of the plants and rhizosphere microorganisms. The mycelia of mycorrhiza extend to a long distance and can link the rhizosphere and mycorrhizosphere of different plant species making a common pool of the available nutrients of the other plant species. newline
