Abstract: Engineered wood is a versatile material created through a standardized manufacturing process, where the physical and mechanical properties of the final product are influenced by various factors such as particle size, shape, density, and surface finish. Additionally, parameters like pH, permeability, particle shape, and aspect ratio play vital roles in the production. Depending on the intended use, different combinations of raw particles and adhesives are employed to achieve specific properties. Additives are often introduced in small quantities to enhance homogeneity during the mixing process. When producing particleboards from agricultural and woodworking waste, the quality of the boards hinges on factors like the type of particles, wood density, and manufacturing techniques, with the adhesive and additives being critical components. While traditional resins like UF, PF, MUF, and MF can emit formaldehyde, isocyanate adhesives offer improved curing and moisture resistance. Recent research emphasizes the use of bio-based adhesives for their health and eco-friendly advantages. Binder less panels, a newer option, are gaining popularity due to their eco-friendliness and cost-effectiveness, with natural source resins helping reduce health risks and production costs. The research and development in particles board as an alternate of natural wood have attracted great attention due to their social acceptance. In this research, particleboards samples having varying composition of millet and rohida wood particles were developed. A specified quantity of adhesive MUF as a binding agent was added in mixture. Also, for comparison of physical and mechanical properties, samples are solely developed with millet cob and rohida wood particles. All samples were investigated for physical and mechanical properties as per IS 2380 by using standard equipment.
