dc.description.abstract | The demand for residential and commercial buildings increased drastically day by day in the constructional sector. The multi storied building should be economical and should have less building components for architectural point of view. Due to this reason flat slab construction would be preferred. A slab which does not have beam component and it directly transfers its load to the foundation through vertical columns called flat slab. Slabs are generally of two types which are R.C.C slab and Flat slab. Required more headroom for the architectural purpose the flat slab should preferred in a multi storied building. The construction of flat slab is generally used with drop panel or column head and vice versa depends upon the loading condition. If loading is less than a simple flat slab is used, the component of the building, which resists the seismic forces, is known as the lateral force-resisting system. The most common forms of these systems in a structure are special moment resisting frames, shear walls and frame-shear wall dual systems. Flat Slab and shear wall are two different components which are used in building the structure. Generally flat slab and shear wall are different types and it will be used according to loading condition. In a multi storied building where building construction cost is very high flat slab can be used to decrease its overall construction cost. The shear wall also is provided where lateral force is imminent in structure and when the amount of lateral loading is very high, then take, a different type of shear wall according to its requirement. newlinePurpose to Providing Flat Slab newline Flat slab is economical as compare to RC slab. newline The headroom will be more in the flat slab as compare to RCC slab. newline Construction is easy as compare to RC slab. newline The framework will be arranged easily. newline Construction duration will decrease in the flat slab. newline Amount of steel is decreased in the flat slab with compare to RC slab. newline Drop and column head give a better aesthetic look. newline Flat slab is suitable for longer | |
