Abstract: The Study was conducted in Nasik and Sangli districts of Maharashtra during the newlineyear 2004-07. Totally, 110 farmers who have exported their grapes in the year 2003-04 were newlinepurposively selected for the study. The data were collected from the respondent by using newlinequestionnaire and were scored, tabulated and analysed by suitable statistical tools. newlineThe results indicated that, majority of the respondents had knowledge about preproduction newlineprocedure for export; most of them had knowledge about quality production for the newlinegrape export and had low knowledge about post harvest practices for export. Cultivation newlinepractices like girdling, thinning, hormone management, nutrient management, water newlinemanagement, disease and pest management practices to meet export standards were newlineadopted by majority of the respondents. newlineThe major constraints faced by the respondents were; difficult to replace the varieties newlineafter plantation (production constraint), high rate of interest for the loan availed (financial newlineconstraint), more incidence of paste and diseases, irregular supply of electricity (general newlineconstraints), high initial investment for garden establishment (constraint related to cost), and newlinedifficult to meet exports standards of grape (export constraint). newlineIt was found that respondents used informal sources with high intensity than formal newlinesources. More than one third of the respondents use MAHAGRAPES as regular source of newlineinformation. Respondents were depending on private consultant and private exporter for newlineexporting their grape produce. Majority of the respondents used friend as regular source of newlineinformation. newlineThe profile analysis of respondents revealed that, they belonged to the all the three newlineage groups, all of them had education upto middle school and above, more than one third of newlinethem belonged to small land holding category, majority of them belonged to medium newlineextension participation category and belonged to medium risk orientation, medium economic newlineorientation, medium innovativeness and medium to high management orientation. newline
