Abstract: | According to Ayurveda individual herbs are not enough to have the intended newlinetherapeutic effect but when it is optimized as a combination of different herbs in a newlinespecific ratio, it will have a better medicinal impact with less toxicity. In order to newlinedevelop such an intervention, the present study was intended to develop a polyherbal newlineformulation from Ocimum sanctum extract, Citrus Limon peel extract, Aloe vera gel newlinepowder and Honey. The study also aimed to evaluate the impact of polyherbalism as newlinewound Healer and antioxidant, thereafter the different ratio of individual plant extracts newlinewas optimized. The Prepared Formulations were evaluated for the following parameters: newlinepH, Spreadability, skin irritation study, viscosity and stability. The poyherbal newlineformulations were put on various evaluation parameters to access the wound healing and newlineantioxidant activity as 3%, 5% and 7 % w/w polyherbal ointments. The wound healing newlineactivity was evaluated by excision and incision wound models followed by measurement newlineof wound contraction area, percentage wound contraction area, hydroxyproline content, newlinetensile strength, epitheliazation rate. The antioxidant effect was evaluated by calculating newlineSOD and GSH values. Histopathology of repaired skin was also performed to assess the newlinetissue repairment by different groups newline |
