Abstract: | The present research study on E-resources Management Policies and Practices of Private University Libraries in Maharashtra: A Survey highlights use of e-resources in private university libraries and policies created for e-resource collection development and management. The major focus of the study is to find out use of e-resources and related policies required for qualitative need based to collection in private university libraries. Collection development and management policies are essential now a day in developing and explosion of e-resources. newlineFor accessing use of e-resources and availability of collection development policy in private university libraries. The present research selected descriptive research method, survey and structured questionnaire is used for data collection. 19 private universities are established in Maharashtra State till 2020. Researcher selected the population of all the universities i.e. 19 private universities (100%). Thus, the population and sample for the survey is 19 private university libraries in Maharashtra State. The structure questionnaire is based on different 10 elements related to e-resources and collection development policy. newlineOut of 19 private university librarians responded to the survey (68.42%). The remaining university libraries in spite several reminders did not responded to the survey due to their administrative difficulties. Researcher has analyzed data from 13 private universities and presented in the chapter five data analysis. newlineFor this research studies following six objectives are fixed. newline1. To study the acquisition practices used for e-resources in private university libraries. newline2. To study the forms of e-resources available in the collection of private university libraries newline3. To study the practices used to provide access to e-resources by private university libraries. newline4. To study and find the problems faced by librarians in developing e-resource collection and its management. |
