Abstract: The objective of the present research is to investigate various design aspects of shaped charge elements and warhead performance at elevated ambient temperatures. There are various elements of a shaped charge warhead like precision initiation coupler, wave shaper etc. The design of these elements has been studied considering their viability for manufacture and performance evaluation methods. newlineShaped charges have been prepared to incorporate metallic liners made of aluminium, soft iron and Oxygen Free Electronic (OFE) copper. These shaped charges were detonated at a fixed stand-off distance from the target. Target damage characteristics have been studied for the three different liner materials. The aluminium liner has induced maximum damage to the target. An additional effect of the blast is available when the aluminium liner is used. This is because less explosive energy is used to deform the aluminium liner and the remaining energy impinges the target in the form of a blast wave that creates additional damage to the target. newline newline
