Impact of Training on the Knowledge Attitude and Practice on Value Addition of Fruits Amongrural Women an Experimental Study

Abstract

The study Impact of Training on the Knowledge, Attitude and Practice on Value Addition of Fruits among Rural Women: An Experimental Study adopted mixed method design. The study proceeded with a board objective to identify the rural women and promote the knowledge in value addition skills in fruits and to improve the economic returns to the rural women through proper training. The study was conducted in four phases. In first phase, qualitative research method is used to gather information regarding knowledge on fruits among rural women in selected villages of Puducherry through Focus Group Discussion with the help of agriculture officer at Madagadipet, Uzhavar Uthaviyagam. Assessment of knowledge, attitude and practice among rural women (N=309) on value addition of fruits obtained through survey method was done in phase II. Third phase adhered to understand the impact of training among selected rural women on value addition of fruits. Rural women were randomly assigned into experimental (n=100) and control group (n=100). Experimental group have undergone training for 15 days. Financial Analysis of the demonstrated value added products was done in fourth phase. The data was statistically analysed using f-test, t-test and factor analysis. newline
