Abstract: Recent research has mainly focused on new renewable energy sources due to the huge demand for existing fossil fuels. A priority effort is needed to adopt new renewable energy sources, especially in energy storage devices. Among various energy storage devices, supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries have become the most important electrochemical energy sources to fill the energy gap, especially in high-power machinery and transportation. To meet the growing energy demand, materials science and engineering initiatives, including changes in material size, morphological characteristics, and porosity play an important role, considering the fact that many types of materials have been collected and studied for Li-ion battery and supercapacitor systems. The heart of the energy storage device are practical materials, which consist of carbon-based substances, oxides of metals sulphides, and other chemicals. Capacitors are generally classified into three categories with regard to the electrochemical properties of the material on the electrode and electrolyte interface: electrochemically based pseudo capacitors, EDLC, and electrochemical hybrid capacitors newline
