Abstract: Biomaterials are frequently required in the fields of tissue engineering, medication delivery, and medical imaging. These biomaterials have been carefully developed to have increased stability, proper pharmacokinetics, and effective cell proliferation. It has long been considered that for biomaterials, surface chemistry and microstructure are the most essential aspects of tissue implant relationships, with a significant influence on the implants biocompatibility and osseointegration. Implant failure has been linked to a lack of functions in terms of inflammatory response, bacterial infection, wear, and corrosion, as well as implant loosening, which necessitates revision surgery. Surface modification of biomaterials plays a vital function in establishing a long-term engagement between the implants and the human body environment in order to relieve implant insufficiency. newlineThe current work focuses on enhancing the functionality of metallic implants in the human body environment by improving their biological reactions, surface characteristics, and so on. With traditional copper and powder metallurgy (Cu-Mo) electrodes, the growing popularity of the Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) method of precision part manufacturing with tailor able surface properties, the assessment of the EDM process was therefore carried out concerning the surface alteration of medical grade Ti-6Al-7Nb (ASTM F1295) titanium alloy. The outcomes of the research were verified by different surface characterization techniques, such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction (XRD). newline newline
