Assessment of Factors for a Competitive Supply Chain in Industry four point Zero era

Abstract

Industry 4.0, also known as the fourth industrial revolution, can help organizations stay newlinecompetitive in the market through reduction in the supply chain complexity, improvement in newlineefficiency, optimum utilization of resources, and enhancement of sustainability of manufacturing newlineoperations. It tends to provide a more intertwined, flexible, and productive manufacturing process newlineand hence a competitive supply chain to produce customized products with less possible delivery newlinetime than the traditional mass production system. It is necessary to study the multifarious factors newlineprevailing in this digital era of Industry 4.0 influencing the operations and competitiveness of SCs. newlineThis study aims to highlight the significant enablers for competitive SCs (CSCs) and analyze the newlinerelationships among those significant enablers by using multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) newlinetechniques. SC managers will get better insights from the models of this study to design their SCs newlinethat are more competitive with a more competitive advantage. To the best of the authors newlineknowledge, this is a foremost study focusing on the significant enablers of a CSC by utilizing the newlineTISM along with MICMAC and DEMATEL methods. It is expected that this research will offer newlineuseful guidance for assessing and considering the SC enablers for achieving a CSC and facilitate newlinenew research in this area with more thrust. newline
