A Clinico Analytical Study on Padagata Kurchashira Marma with Special Reference to its Marmabhighata

Abstract

Marma is considered to be one of the important vital spot in human body and injury to it leads to death or gives misery to individual similar to death. Description of 107 marmas given by all Acharyas being classified into five varieties on the basis of involved structures, five on the basis newlineof effect of injury and five on the basis of location in the body. Acharya Sushruta has roughly mentioned the site of Koorcha siramarma below the Gulpha sandhi but the exact location is not pointed out by any Acharyas. The anatomical structures which are newlineinvolved in this particular Marma are also not revealed. The knowledge of location and structures involved in its Marmabhighata. All marmas are having five Marma Vastus,where Koorcasira has SnayuVastu predominance which has to be critically analyzed. An attempt will be made for the better understanding of Padagata Koorchasira Snayu Marma with newlinethe help of cadaveric heel dissection and their Viddha Lakshana with special reference to its Marmabhighata observed clinically as well as radiologically.in this study. 1. Literary data: The literary and conceptual study will be on the data compilation of Bruhatrayis, previous newlinework done and will be correlated, analyzed with their knowledge of contemporary science on the subject. Dissection of 10 heels of cadavers will be done in region of Padagata Koorch sira Snayu Marmas in the dissection hall of Parul University, Limda, WaghodiyaVadodara, Gujarat and Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Bengaluru. newlineAnatomical structures located in that region will be observed and analyzed and will be newlinecorrelated in the view of ancient description of Koorcha sira Snayu Marma. Patients attending OPD and IPD of Government Ayurveda Medical Hospital Bengaluru fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria of disease will be selected for the study.
