dc.description.abstractMadhumeha is one of the Mahagada vyadhi noted as Tridoshaja, Atisantarpan vyadhi and also Kelda udbhajanya Vyadhi. It is known as Yapya vyadhi also because of Saptadushya and involvement of Apara ojus. Sthoola Madhumeha has produced by factors like improper food habits, genetics, lifestyle, etc. On the basis of Nidana Panchaka, Sthoola Madhumeha is of two types, and ther are Avaranajanya and Dhatu Kshayajanya. Diabetes mellitus is a a global health hazard and is having many socio-economic impact on the individual as well as society. According to a study carried out in 2013 by the Indian Council of Medical Research, India has 62.4 million people with diabetes, of whom 90% have type II diabetes mellitus. Pradhana karana for the sidease is atisankarpaa and it possesses treatment like vamana, virechana. Udvartana is having qualities like scrapping, hence, it is noted as best treatment.The basti helps for the maintaninace of sugar level. The churna has the ability through which one can treat the disease effectively. AIM: The aims of the study were. Aim : An holistic approach towards the disease and compare with a standard controlled drug. Objectives : 1. To study the Sthoola Madhumeha 2. To study the Diabetes Mellitus 3. To evaluate the combined effect in SM 4. To compare the combined management with a standard controlled drug HYPOTHESIS : 1. Ho: There was no effect of the combined and standard drug 2. H1: The standard drug is more effective than the combined study 3. H2: The combined study of is more effective than standard drug
