Abstract

Communication involves comprehending the efforts of a sender in passing a newlinemessage to one or multiple receiver through verbal, non-verbal modes of language. Thus, communication is nothing but a form of spoken and unspoken expressions that connects people with each other. Technological advancements in daily communication and invention of internet and other modes of communication newlinewhere technology is used made this world a global village. Due to this, local or newlinenational business could gain the potential to develop international connect and grow it internationally by having clients or services from different nations. This development resulted into a new demand and that is none other than having a common language to communicate, establish and expand professional network. As a result, English has become a common global language used for newlinecommunication. In this era of globalization multinational corporations could access Indian market and Indian businessmen could access the world outside India and this movement was resultant to creation of numerous employment opportunities in India where English communication is primary desired skill for the success of an individual as well as organization. And same is to be considered for the field of Interior Design. So from college life to professional life Communication in English became a part and parcel of doing routine activities. Gradually, this is what majority of the companies started looking for at the time of newlinehiring staff to join their offices. Being proficient in English helps an ID student to access online resources, understand other cultures, read or discuss about the professional work done in different countries and thus, understand the demand and developments in the field nationally as well as internationally. This, directly or indirectly, helps an interior designer to express his understanding of the field well in different academic and professional events where s/he can confidently convince national as well as international clients.
