Teaching competence organisational citizenship behaviour and managerial skills of secondary school teachers

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship among teaching competence, organisational citizenship behaviour and managerial skills of secondary school teachers. A sample of 400 teachers was raised from Government and Private secondary schools of Jalandhar District. Major findings revealed that there exists positive and significant relationship between teaching competence and organisational citizenship behaviour, teaching competence and managerial skills and organisational citizenship behaviour and managerial skills. Significant differences were observed among teachers of government and private schools on teaching competence, organisational citizenship behaviour and managerial skills. This study would be useful for curriculum framers and policy makers and emphasizes that managerial skills are of utmost importance for teachers to enhance their teaching competence. newline
