Abstract: | Context based automatic authorization through dynamic privilege escalation was the concept which raised the eyebrows to do something in the field of security related to IoT device. The research was motivated by a desire to do something in the field of security. Following a thorough examination of trends and recent challenges, a preliminary conclusion was reached that security in IoT devices necessitates special consideration. The journey began with a meaningful purpose - to focus on the security realm of the Internet of Things. Further structured research showed that communication and trust between devices in different environments are problems that have not yet been satisfactorily solved. This research journey is embarked to resolve security concerns and ensure that communication across devices is secure and can be trusted. newlineThe next step now is to list the subtopics under the category security and analyze the state of the art of the industry in general in this regard stands; so that can a clue can be found on where to start or in which direction to proceed. The security field involves critical points to look for, viz. (not in order): the ability to securely connect; successfully establish the identity of the device; ability to authorize the device requesting permission; governance of devices interconnecting; right to deny access despite successfully authenticating; ability to audit create an audit trail for analysis, ability to connect devices of heterogeneous origin and make and model; Authorization as an ability executed by artificial intelligence; etc. newline newline |
