Abstract: | Content Delivery Network (CDN) offers a dedicate services of large number of interconnected networks and resources to ensure the content delivery for long-haul transmission of data. However, with inclusion of extensive cost owing to dependency of presence of data or replicated data in the geographical proximity of end-user, there are serious pitfalls of conventional CDN. This challenge can be mitigated by the deploying cloud-based CDN (CCDN) which offers extensive coverage as well as availability of data to the entire global where internet is accessible. However, CCDN, which is mainly dependent over cloud computing environment, has its own pitfalls, which is related to scalability of services. After reviewing the existing cloud-based CDN architectures, it is found that majority are either application specific or they are focused towards using sophisticated technologies which does compromise with the cost effectiveness factor. Hence, the proposed system has evolved up with a solution by introducing a novel CCDN framework inspite of working on specific application or service. The development of this new CCDN architecture is analyzed with varied test cases and assessment environment to confirm that it is capable of catering up the need of content availability on the basis of novel cache management scheme. An exclusive set of conditional logical operation is created which can identity and work accordingly using edge location and regional location on the event of cache hit/miss cases. Further, for proof-of-concept, this architecture was assessed for optimizing the content placement problem in existing CCDN. A novel matrix-based operation is carried out considering cache proxy and content server along with considering of novel geographical distribution of cache/content server. This adopted principle ensures the mechanism of pushing forward the replicated data to the server which is near to the location of end user autonomously. The complete thesis has elaborated discussion about its implementation, methodology, system |
