The present thesis incorporates the development of higher coordinated compounds of silicon, specifically silatranes and their characterization using different spectroscopic techniques such as FT-IR, 1 H NMR and 13C NMR. The synthesized compounds have been investigated for their solvatochromic, ionochromic and biological properties using spectroscopic as well as computational techniques. Moreover, the theoretical analysis using DFT/TDDFT approach has annotated to get an insight into the coordination mode of ligand to metal ion. Furthermore, the molecular docking studies have been performed for computer-based predictions and investigation of binding interactions between synthesized ligands and proteins. newline
