Abstract: This proposed research has two main considerations; first, is a critical analysis of psycho-philosophical theories of Erich Fromm pertaining to his ideas such as dynamic self , orientation of character , having and being , humanism existential dichotomies interpersonal creative capacities , autonomy , agency etc. Second, is an analysis of works of Kashinath Singh from the perspective of Erich Fromm. Kashinath is a prominent Indian writer who portrayed socio-cultural ethos of north India in his works in a very subtle way. This research will try to analyze Indian socio-cultural realities by illustrating the works of Kashinath Singh. It also critically analyzes and examines the representation of Indian socio-cultural reality in the works of Kashinath Singh. newline
