dc.description.abstract | Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) can be described as eliciting the inner turmoil of the speaker s thinking from his/her speech. Different attributes of human voice get changed with different moods/emotions and these attributes can be expressed in the form of prosody or spectral features. It is easy for a human to identify the emotions in a speech, but it is very difficult for a machine to do the same. newlineThe research on Automatic Speech Emotion Recognition began in 1970, and has evolved a long way since its inception, to incorporate miscellaneous applications. It has gained popularity in many fields such as artificial customer service, distance education, medical assistance, E-learning, audio surveillance, detection of lies and clinical studies, entertainment, call centers, computer games, monitor and predict fatigue state, fear detection in anomalous conditions for a safety purpose. newline newline | |
