dc.description.abstract | The rapid development of electrical energy consumption and the need newlinefor clean and free energy for environmental safety have put renewable newlineenergy-based power generation in the spotlight, and it is growing at a rapid newlinerate throughout the world. Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are becoming newlinemore popular among grid-connected renewable energy technologies. Solar PV newlinehas several advantages, including long life, ease of installation, rooftop newlineapplications, free and unlimited energy, clean energy generation, noiseless newlineoperation, lack of moving parts, and low maintenance. Grid-connected solar newlineinverters eliminate the need for large battery banks, saving both space and newlinecost. PV modules, on the other hand, have poor energy conversion efficiency. newlineAs a result, power electronic converters are critical in extracting the most newlinepossible power from PV modules and converting it into a grid-compatible newlineformat. newlineThese are often classified into two types: dual-stage (with dc/dc newlineconverter) and single-stage (without dc/dc converter). The single-stage newlineinverter topology has several advantages over the dual-stage inverter newlinearchitecture, including fewer active semiconductor switches, improved newlineefficiency, and increased dependability. Because of its single-stage power newlineconversion, the Z-source inverter (ZSI) has been employed for PV power newlinesystems. The ZSI achieves a voltage buck/boost in one phase using an newlineimpedance network that connects the inverter main circuit to the PV. While in newlineZSI shoot-through mode, energy is stored in inductors and released when the newlinemode is switched to non-shoot-through mode, followed by the voltage boost newlinefunction. As a result, the Shoot-through state will be improved to achieve newlinehigh gain, which increases Total Harmonics Distortion (THD), conduction newlinelosses, and overall system efficiency. In this thesis, proposed quasi Z-Source newlineInverter (qZSI) is created to address this drawback. newline | |
