Abstract: | This research evaluates the parametric analysis of the thermal newlinebehavior of the cubicles incorporated with phase change material (PCM) for newlinecooling applications. The integration of PCM into the building walls and roof newlineallows the dynamic utilization of energy resources in the cubicles. Due to the newlinelatent heat storage capacity of PCMs, excess thermal energy may be stored newlineduring hot periods and released during cold periods on a 24-hour cycle. The newlineadvantage of integrating PCMs into buildings include reduction in the active newlineenergy along with a shift in peak cooling load energy requirements. The newlinefollowing are the proposed objectives of this present study: newline(i) Investigation on alternate building materials and its newlineperformance assessment, and characterization of PCMs newline(ii) Assessment of thermal performance parameters in the cubicle newlineconstructed with PCM newline(iii) Numerical simulation using Ansys and its validation with of newlinethe experimental results newline An alternative building material cement Exfoliated Vermiculite newline(EV) sample was found. The thermal performance parameters of building newlinematerial samples, including thermal conductivity, thermal resistivity, thermal newlinetransmittance, thermal damping, and thermal performance index, are newlineevaluated using a solar simulator setup.
