dc.description.abstractConcrete is the dominating material in the field of infrastructure development. In recent decades lot of research is carried in strengthening the cement concrete in various aspects. In the silkworm industry, a large amount of fiber waste is formed during their manufacturing process of silk. Silkworm Cocoon Waste Fibre (SCWF) is of thermosetting plastics in nature cause environmental hazards. The world is taking keen interest in improving the waste management and reusing it another form to reduce the environmental pollution. The silkworm cocoon has special structure with light weight and tough natural composites. The outer layer of silkworm cocoon is enriched with strong composite elements that will protect the silkworm from environmental effects like; predators and temperature variation. SCWF has high binding force and fiber volume fraction which are the most important characteristics of a composite fiber. In this research work, SCWF is used as concrete admixtures for the improvement of concrete performance.
