Abstract: newline Energy and the environment are the momentous threats that have been faced by the developed and developing countries for the past two decades. Environmental pollution has been a major challenge since the beginning of life on the earth due to the rapid development of urbanisation and industrialization. Water is one of the most vital components of the earth and it is required for the survival. Human activities, such as the direct or indirect release of harmful chemicals and organic and inorganic products into water from industries and sewage, pollute the natural water resources. Water contamination has exerted a significant impact on ecosystems since the industrial revolution, resulting in a scarcity of clean water. Hence, providing a clean environment for humans is crucial for their health. Among the various wastewater treatments, the Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) is an effective technique that degrades organic pollutants completely into simple inorganic molecules.
