Abstract: The thesis is on Climate resilient water security for urban settlements: A case newlinestudy on Bengaluru s India. The Bengaluru urban area has grown from 226 sq km in newline1995 to 710 sq km by 2023. Among the 44 global mega cities, Bangalore is ranked newline23rd. Bengaluru now relies mainly on the Cauvery River, which is located 140 km newlineaway and 500 m lower. Bengaluru spends 75 million rupees per month to pump river newlinewater in three stages to get about 1450 MLD of water. It is a fact that it also gets five newlinetimes rain water every year over the river source. The city s GDP makes up over 87% newlineof Karnataka s total GDP. It is one of the top 30 smartest cities in the world in terms newlineof technology and infrastructure. newline
