Abstract: This thesis focuses on the development of various mesogens, specifically luminescent liquid crystals (LCs), with a paramount focus on their wide-ranging applications in organo-electronic devices. The distinctive combination of light-emitting properties and self-organization ability inherent in these materials sets them apart and by skilfully aligning the molecules in condensed phases and capitalizing on their remarkable self-healing properties, precise tuning of electroluminescence and charge transport phenomena can be achieved. The design strategies employed to induce LC phases of these materials encompass the utilization of diverse molecular architectures, including calamitic LC, discotic LC, and bent-shaped molecules, functionalized with flexible alkyl chains. Notably, these molecules exhibit intriguing microphase segregation behaviour upon heating, further augmenting their multifaceted nature. newline
