The study, Designing a Reading Course for Engineering Communication, puts together germane reading materials to formulate a reading course for the engineering undergraduates in the English classroom. The motivation to develop such a reading course occurred as the need of the hour when the English faculty and the Engineering faculty noted that engineering students struggled to comprehend their academic texts, thereby leading to poor performances at examinations, job recruitments, and interpersonal relationships. Moreover, there were complaints from the workplaces that the newly recruited engineers who were adept at their subject knowledge could not excel in the English LSRW skills, especially the reading skills. Therefore, it became mandatory to develop a reading course for engineering communication to assist them in understanding their domain-specific topics and achieve their professional goals in the future. newlineIn 2017-2018, the present researcher selected different types of reading materials, and tested them in the English classroom for engineering students. Thus, the investigation started off, and evolved steadily in seven stages, step by step, extending from semester to semester, and reaching the culmination in newline
