Abstract: quotA PRE EXPERIMENTAL STUDY TO ASSESS THE EFFECTIVENESS OF newlinePLANNED TEACHING PROGRAMME ON KNOWLEDGE REGARDING newlineNEONATAL CARE AMONG POST NATAL MOTHERS IN SELECTED HOSPITAL newlineOF INDORE, MADHYA PRADESH newlineBackground of the study newlineNo country can afford to ignore newborn health. Globally 4 million babies die in the newline1st month of life and neonatal death allocates for almost in every 10 death in childhood. newlineOver 75% of neonate are born and cared for in the domiciliary setting 4 at all families newlineavail of neonatal care facilities and it is at a small hospital or a larger district hospital. newlineMother are primary health care provider for neonate over 80% of newborn newlinebabies/neonate require minimal/basis care which can be provided by their mothers under the newlinesupervision of village health worker. newlineNewborn practices immediately following the delivery contributes to newborn newline/neonate risk of morbidity /mortality. A set of practices that reduce neonatal newlinemorbidity/mortality have been outlined as essential neonatal care practices, thus the practices newlineinclude clean cord care cutting the umbilical cord a sterile instrument, drying and trapping the newlineneonate immediately after the delivery initiating breast feeding in the 1st hour after birth. newlineIndia contributes to 20% of Global birth and highest no. of neonatal deaths with in a newlinecountry each year, 6 million infants are born in India, of these 1.2 millions die during the newlineneonatal period. newline11 newlineUnderstanding, routine neonatal are practices in the bone is necessary in order to newlinedesign/priorities, interventions to reduce neonatal morbidity and mortality rate. newlineNewborn survival can be improved by implementing available cost effective newlineintervention and by strengthening existing material and child health service. However, for this newlinepurpose, countries need a strategy to improve newborn care. newlineOBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY: newline1. To assess the pre-test and post test knowledge score regarding Neonatal care among newlineadmitted postnatal mothers newline2. To. Evaluate effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge newlineregarding Neonatal care newline3. To f
