Abstract: | A brief overview of the nonlinear optical concepts with a focus on second newlineorder and third order nonlinearity, various crystal growth methods with emphasis newlineon low temperature solution growth technique have been discussed in detail. newlineAn introduction to nonlinear optical materials and organic, inorganic and semiorganic newlineclassification based on their properties were discussed. The characterization newlinetechniques were discussed in detail. newlineL-histidine hydrochloride (LHHCl) single crystal has been successfully newlinesynthesized by the method of slow solvent evaporation technique. The single newlinecrystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the grown crystal found to newlineorthorhombic crystal system with P212121 space group. The functional groups of newlinegrown crystal, optical, thermal and nonlinear optical properties of the grown newlinecrystal is revealed by FTIR, UV-visible spectroscopy, thermal analyses and newlinepowdered second harmonic generation, respectively. The present study is taken newlineto prove the cytotoxic effect of L-histidine hydrochloride single crystal on human newlinebreast cancer cell line MCF-7. The in vitro cytotoxicity is evaluated by newlineperforming MTT assay and the cell morphological characteristics are observed newlineby using phase contrast microscope. newlineSemi organic single crystal of title compound newline |
