Abstract: An investigation to Assess the Expression Level of Dmt1, Dcytb, Fpn and Hif-2and#945; With newlineIron-Related Parameters Among Patients with Liver Cirrhosisand healthy controls was newlineconducted. newlineMethods newlineFollowing the receipt of informed consent, the researchers recruited 100 patients with newlineALD and 100 healthy controls for the study. These individuals, each of whom newlineunderwent a medically indicated upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, provided blood and newlineduodenal mucosal samples for analysis. Hematological measures, liver function tests, newlineand high-sensitivity C-reactive protein measurements were all performed on blood newlinesamples. newlineA protein (high-sensitivity CRP) and indicators of iron status. In order to measure HIF- newline2 protein levels in the duodenal mucosa, western blot analysis was performed, as well newlineas quantitative PCR to determine the mRNA expression of DMT-1, Dcytb, and newlineferroportin. newlineResults newlineIn the overall group, correlation analysis revealed that serum ferritin levels were newlinepositively correlated with transferrin saturation and hs-CRP levels, but negatively newlinecorrelated with ferroportin mRNA levels and total iron binding capacity (TIBC). The newlinelevels of haemoglobin were shown to be positively linked with TIBC. Serum iron levels newlinewere found to be favourably connected with transferrin saturation, whilst hs-CRP newlinelevels were found to be negatively correlated with haemoglobin levels and total iron newlinebinding capacity (TIBC). newlineThe results of a correlation study of data from patients with ALD revealed that FPN newlineand DMT-1 were favourably associated with one another; the mRNA levels of both of newlinethese proteins were negatively related to serum ferritin and WBC counts, and positively newlinerelated to total iron binding capacity (TIBC). The expression of FPN mRNA was found newlineto have a negative relationship with transferrin saturation. A positive link was newlineidentified between serum ferritin levels and high-sensitivity CRP, while a negative newlinecorrelation was found between serum ferritin levels and TIBC. newline
