Abstract: BACKGROUND: newlineDiabetes mellitus (DM), which has a high morbidity and mortality rate, has emerged as newlinea significant worldwide health issue. One of the most significant long-term newlinemicrovascular consequences of diabetes mellitus (DM) is type 2 diabetic nephropathy newline(T2DN), which is a major contributor to end-stage renal disease (ESRD) globally. newlineThere is data indicating that T2DM is a mild inflammatory condition. Though, newlineinflammatory markers including high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) have newlinebeen linked to an increased risk of diabetes, the relationship between hs-CRP and the newlinegrowth and progress of DN is still not known. Therefore, this study was conducted to newlineobserve the changes in levels of the eGFR, lipid profiles, and hs-CRP levels in DN newlinepatients. newlineAIM: newlineThis study aimed to measure the levels of serum high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs- newlineCRP) and lipid profile in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and patients with newlinediabetic nephropathy and to compare with that of normal subjects. We also assessed the newlinechanges in levels of hs-CRP, parameters of lipid profile and eGFR with the progression newlineof stages of Diabetic Nephropathy. In this study the levels of hs-CRP were correlated newlinewith other variables. newline
