Woman is an important person in the newlinefamily. She nourishes her fetus and gives birth to child. Health of mother is tender and newlinewanted component of total care and cannot be neglected because of the fact that if newlinemother is healthy, the children will be healthy which in turn affect nation s health. newlineThe cancer is the most dreaded disease and refers to malignant tumors, neoplasm newlinewhich is caused by abnormal growth of new tissue. Today, the most feared of all newlinedisease next only to HIV/ AIDS is cancer. Cancer is a generic term for a large group newlineof diseases that can affect any part of the body. newlineCancer is the second most common disease in India responsible for maximum newlinemortality with about 0.3 million deaths per year. This is owing to the poor newlineavailability of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease. All types of newlinecancers have been reported in Indian population including the cancers of skin, newlinelungs, breast, rectum, stomach, prostate, liver, cervix, oesophagus, bladder, newlineblood, mouth etc. newlineCervical cancer is one of the major public health problems throughout the world. It is newlinethe fourth most common malignancy in women. The overwhelming majority, about newline85%, are seen in developing parts of the world .Almost 9 out of 10 deaths occur from newlinecervical cancer in less developed countries. Globocan forecasts that 15,220 females newlinewill be diagnosed and 8,515 females will die of cancer cervix in 2020 newlineCancer of the cervix is largely preventable. The risk can be minimized by promotion newlineof sexual risk reduction behavior and genital hygiene .Further prevention can be newlineachieved by screening, using Visual Inspection with Acidic Acid (VIA) or Pap smear newlinetest, which can detect precancerous lesions early so as
