Abstract: Dumping of waste on land is an ancient method of waste disposal. newlineIt endangers the ecosystem. The circular economy is a cyclic process that newlinefocuses on increasing the sustainability of a product through identification of newlinethe reuse of used resources for a product at various stages, thereby reducing newlineaccumulation of waste dumped in landfills. Focus on the key factors helps newlineenhancement of the circular economy concept to a new level of effective newlineusage. This research work is bringing a new suggestion to the corporation newlinethrough literature surveys, expert reviews, field surveys, and analysis. newlineAn exhaustive literature review has led to the identification of the newlinemethodology for the proposed research. The method followed for this newlineempirical study has three distinctive stages. Stage 1 relates to getting an newlineunderstanding of the awareness of the circular economy. Stage 2 identifies the newlinecritical success factors for the successful implementation and develops a newlinemodel for the implementation. Stage 3 relates to the validation of the model newlinethrough empirical study. A survey was conducted using a questionnaire that newlinecomprised a set of questions provided relating to the hierarchy of the newlinemunicipal employees. Based on the literature review, 12 awareness variables newlinewere derived. An awareness survey was conducted in selected municipalities. newlineThe data collected were analyzed using SPSS version 22. The overall newlineawareness seen at the end of the study was 64%, and this was considered newlinemoderate. In addition to ranking the awareness variables, the respondents newlinewere grouped into five categories based on demographic variables. Five newlinehypotheses were developed for the determination of the effect of the gender, newlineage of the respondents, hierarchical levels of the employees, educational newlinequalification, and work experience of the respondents, respectively. Twosample newlinet-tests and one-way ANOVA were employed in the testing of the newlineproposed hypotheses. Four variables were seen to have a strong influence on newlineiv category. Therefore, the demographic variable dered important
