Energy is vital for home appliances and industrial processes. The newlineprime movers in industries consume energy and provide the desired outputs. newlineFossil fuels are the primary sources which supply energy to the prime movers newlinein industry applications. newlineHowever, the harmful release from the fossil fuel burning make newlinethem a limited usage. Further, the gases released from the fossil fuels lead to newlineglobal warming and health issues to the human beings. Hence, it is necessary newlineto search for alternative energy sources with environment friendly nature. newlineRenewable energy source is such an alternative energy source newlinewhich produces energy from the natural resources like sun, wind, tidal, newlinegeothermal, hydro and biomass. newlineBiomass is a material obtained from the plantation and animal newlinesources. It is in the form of fruit, seed, fruit or vegetable peel, wooden sticks, newlinestraws and husks. Generally, biomasses are received from the forest wastes, newlineagricultural wastes and municipal wastes. newlineBioenergy is extracted from the biomass which is used in the newlineindustrial applications as heat or electricity. Biomass could be directly used or newlineprocessed by following various energy conversion methods. newlinePyrolysis is a thermo-mechanical energy conversion method to newlineextract energy from biomass. It is heated to high temperature up to char newlineformation and the various products are received during the pyrolysis process. newlineFurther, the heat energy produced by the biomass is utilized to useful newlineapplications. newline newline
