Nylon is one among the widely used engineering polymer, which is composed of oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen atoms. Nylon is mainly used to develop gears and bushes going to easy processing and better tribological characteristics. Nylon-based components are used in automotive, textile, aerospace, etc., Nylon based composites are developed to elevate the technical properties. The research work aims in enhancing the mechanical and vibrational characteristics of nylon by incorporating different micro and nano-sized particulates. Micro particulates used are talc, kaolin, mica and calcium carbonate CaCO3. Nanoclay particulates namely cloisite 15A, cloisite 20A and cloisite 30B are used. Micro and Nanoparticulate reinforced nylon composites are developed using a two-step mixing technique. Micro particulates (5,10,15 and 20 wt.%) incorporated in nylon through twin screw extruder followed by specimen preparation as per ASTM standard through injection moulding technique. Nano particulates (1, 2 and 3 wt.%) are mixed with nylon using solution mixing technique followed by specimen preparation through injection molding technique. All the developed specimens are subjected to morphological mechanical and vibrational studies. newline
