Abstract: newline Data is a main asset in this fast internet world that connects various electronic devices such as computers, mobile phones, laptops, cameras etc., which generates huge amount of data that needs large volume of storage space and resources. It permits users to access data from anywhere and anytime by maintaining flexibility and low cost. Nowadays centralized data storage systems are widely endorsed by organizations and group of users for information storage and sharing. As a result, a cloud storage system is required to successfully manage the massive data securely while meeting the increase in current storage space requirements. Due to the rapid increase in data volumes in cloud storage, this paradigm confronts lot of security, data integrity and efficiency issues. So, there is a crucial need for innovative techniques to efficiently utilize storage and bandwidth. To achieve this, client side data deduplication is the widely accepted technique in all domains of cloud data storage. In traditional deduplication system, the cloud server stores only a single copy of the file. So, any hardware or software misfire in the cloud storage may cause harm to the stored data thereby affecting the consistency and integrity. So, it is a major concern to verify and ensure the integrity of the data in cloud deduplication systems. The main challenges concerning centralized storage systems are the third party control, single point of failure, lack of transparency and traceability. Data security is very important for safeguarding the stored cloud data in this distributed environment. In traditional cloud data sharing system, there are several issues regarding transaction traceability, user authorization, data ownership management and access control preservation. Most of the traditional approaches does not consider the issues in controlling user accessing cloud data vi storage and sharing. Also, traditional access control schemes do not have effective method to compensate cloud users whose data integrity is lost.
