Abstract: Trade as an Engine of Growthquot, is a globally recognized and accepted fact for all nations. A widely understood, accepted, and established fact is that a country s capability of engaging in trade depends on its internal resources, trade infrastructure, technology, social and political structure, and government regulations. Internal resources include both human resources and natural resources such as climate, temperature, rainfall, extreme events, heat waves, number of cold days, water availability, etc. Efficient utilization and management of available resources is the key factor for a nation to maintain its global competitiveness and ensure its property and sustainability while protecting the planet. Thus, the relatedness between climate change and sustainable development is strong but complex. The linkage between a country s water availability and trade, which is essential for economic development and the environment, got less attention from policy makers till date (Duarte 2013; Hoekstra 2010), although combating climate change with proper international regimes and climate regimes was the top priority under the quotSustainable Development Goalsquot. This study is an attempt to address the burning issue of the impacts of climate change in three important sectors in India: water-intensive agricultural export, water, and climate. The research gap of previous work has been identified, which in turn helped to understand the probable measures that could be taken to deal with this issue and protect sustainability in terms of natural resources and sustainability in agricultural production and trade.
